Seriously…how many concerns can you remember from last year this time? How about last week? As a recovering worry wart, I can tell you that all of the little things I obsessed over and freaked out about over the years were all wasted energy. I’m definitely not too far removed from my illness; it’s a constant struggle to stop myself from negative over-thinking. ‎ Because really, Where did it get me? It didn’t change the situation, make me a better person, or help anyone else. So what was the point?

Don’t get me wrong, there are real problems out there that need people to help solve them, but will worrying help? No. For me, a lot of prayer and reading my Bible has gotten me through many situations where the old me tried to take over. As we enter into 2013, we shouldn’t carry over our worries from now. We’re only given today and there is enough to do here, so let’s focus our energy on that. It’s amazing what we can do when we concentrate on the right things.
