On December 4, 1953, Lenora Darlene Vaughan, formerly known as Bailey, was born in Bakersfield, Kern, California, in the United States. She is the child of Lenora Belle (Wilson) Bailey and Don Richard Bailey.
Lenora Darlene Vaughan’s Marriage
She married her musician husband, Stephen Ray Vaughan, on December 23, 1979 in Austin, Travis, Texas, United States, and they divorced in 1988.
Lenora Darlene Bailey died peacefully on July 27, 2018, at the age of 64, on Isla Mujeres, Isla Mujeres Municipality, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
Her Husband
Stephen Ray Vaughan was brought into the world on the 3rd of October 1954 in Dallas, Texas, USA, as a performer, artist, musician, and record-maker. He died on the 3rd of October, 2013. Lenora had a net worth of approximately $8 Million and earned quite the chunk weekly.
Stephen was posthumously inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2000 and was the recipient of five W. C. Handy Awards. He was appointed an honorary admiral in the Texas Navy in 1985. For the song “Crossfire,” Vaughan only had one number-one success on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Over 15 million copies of his albums have been sold in the United States. His best-selling, non-Double Trouble studio album, Family Style, was released not long after his passing and went on to win the 1991 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. It has sold over a million copies in the United States.
In 2008, he also became eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but it wasn’t until 2014 that his name was listed on the list of nominees. He and Double Trouble were both admitted into the RRHOF in 2015. He was voted first on Guitar World magazine’s list of the finest blues guitarists.
At the Time of Her Death
Lenora Vaughan died at her house on a small fishing island in Mexico in 2018. She was the fourth generation of Lenora, a name she thought outdated. She was virtually Lenny to everyone who recognized her since she was everything but the older style.
One of her last requests was to come home and spend her final days naked in her own bed, as conveyed by her kid in his commemorative speech. She went on to become a Reiki Master and, shockingly, a Minister. She relished moments of reflective silence to escape the bustle of her daily life. She enjoyed recording music, moving, meeting friends, and throwing evening events.
She married Austin blues musician Stevie Ray Vaughan in the 1980s. She spent her evenings at events, in crowds, visiting, or simply standing by her bedside listening to him tune his guitar. Although Lenny’s life has been celebrated in both Austin and Mexico, the celebration never completely ends.
